Undoubted dedication, the art of beer production has made Germany one of the most established and one of the foremost beer countries in the world. Accounting for around 10% of the world market volume, Germany has some of the oldest and best loved beers across the continent, a history that dates back over 2000 years.
German Purity Law
The oldest food law in the world dating back to 1516, Rienheitsgebot or Purity Law, states that beer is only produced from barley, hops and water. Yeast is now added to beer but everything else has remained the same. True to form German beer is so clear and well made it is considered as one of the market leaders in brewing.
